That version went to number 8 in the United States, number 41 in the United Kingdom, number 4 in New Zealand and topped the single charts in South Africa, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway and Belgium.
The song was also covered by Cher as the title track to her 20th studio album Love Hurts.
